Team Fortress 2 is a new version of multiplayer shooter firstly developed by Valve Corporation in 2007. It’s designed in the style of the 50s. Players are divided into two teams, Red and Blue. They fight with each other playing for several fighting classes, each with a unique weapon. The battles take place in several modes which allows achieving great replay value.
The developers updated the previous version and added content packs with new modes, weapons, etc. Thanks to the support of Steam Workshop, players can also add weapons to the game, the appearance for the heroes, as well as maps. To download Team Fortress 2, you’ll need Windows7, Vista or XP.
Graphics 4/5
The characters are cumbersome and with funny faces that resemble humorous political publications of the 70s. You’ll see a shoulder grenade thrower, emaciated scout, a technician tapping with a wrench and enemy head. Sometimes their movements are ridiculous, clumsy, but very natural.
Gameplay 4.5/5
The main idea of the game has not changed over the past decade. There are two teams called Blue and Red (according to the color of the form), which include nine characters (one per class). Players decide on the class role and attack the enemy Fortress.
One of the main features of Team Fortress 2 is the variety of classes with completely different gameplay. There are nine of them: Soldier, Sniper, Demoman, Heavy, Spy, Scout, Medic, Pyro, and Engineer. The engineer, for example, completely defenses and supplies ammunition and the spy can become invisible and remove opponents from the flanks.
Maps and game modes also emphasize the individuality of the classes and the need for each of them. The game has various modes: flag capture, the capture of control points, control territory, arena, king of the hill, escort race, Middle Ages, special delivery, Mann against cars.
Controls 4/5
In the main menu, you’ll find access to equipment, backpack, forging, Mann Co. catalog and exchange. The item management menu also displays personal user statistics and records. The equipment menu allows the player to change the selected weapons and items used by the class at the moment.
Replay Value 5/5
Together with an interesting team gameplay, there are other interesting points. Permanent support of the developers and the support of the Steam workshop make it possible to update the game and improve its replay value.
Conclusion
According to numerous Team Fortress 2 reviews, at first, it may seem that this is an ordinary shooter, where the player just mindlessly kills the enemy round after round. But after playing the first 2 hours, you begin to understand that the game captures you because of the variety of characters, player interaction, and different tactics without which it is difficult to defeat the enemy.
