A free-to-play game based on the universe of the cartoon "How to train your dragon." You play as a young Viking who gets the opportunity to train his own dragon. In addition to dragon training, you need to keep track of your farm, which is the center for the production of various useful items. You can download "School of Dragons" from Steam for Windows PC and Mac OS X.
Graphics 2/5
The game was released in 2014, but its graphics are similar to the games of 2000-2005. Character models and dragons look like a square with a lot of angles. The game requires 5 Gb of free disk space, but it looks worse than other MMOs released at the same time. According to the review of "School of Dragons" in Steam, the game has many bugs, and the characters get stuck in textures.
Gameplay 2/5
You play as a Viking living in the world of Berke. You need to choose one of 9 dragons to raise it. Each of the 9 dragons has its own personality. If choosing a dragon is too hard for you, the game offers you to take a test. The result will tell you which dragon is better for you. In addition to choosing a dragon, you are given a plot of land on which your farm is located. On this farm, you will grow useful things.
Grow your dragon, and when it grows up you can fly on it through the territories collecting new tasks, earning gems and coins. With the grown dragon you can also participate in races, become a master of fire breathing, as well as many other levels and tasks in the game. Starting the game on your computer, you can continue playing it on other devices. To do this, you must register an account in the game as in any other MMO.
Controls 2/5
All the necessary indicators are located on the user screen like other MMOs. On the left top are the player's units of life, as well as dragon health and relationship indicators. Top right shows the coins, gems, a guidebook on dragons, as well as the settings buttons. Control of the character and the dragon occurs with mouse and keyboard. The mouse controls the direction of sight. The movement of the character occurs with the help of WASD buttons.
Replay Value 3/5
This MMO is replayable. But will you have the desire to spend time in a game with a lot of bugs? The problem of this game is the need for a multitude of microtransactions. Creating one character will be free, but if you want to start the game again and with another dragon, you need to buy a new slot with real money. The same thing happens with tasks where you need to collect a certain number of coins and gems. And for the development of the character you need a huge amount of money.
Conclusion
The game is not suitable for a wide range of people. Only fans of the cartoon "How to Train Your Dragon" will enjoy the game. The game is big online, but to be on par with other games, you must pay a membership fee. The community is quite young. There are many skins for the characters and the ability to customize dragons to your liking.
